““Prior to merging with Look Out Kid in 2023, Anthony was an integral part of Monster Artist Management, my previous company. Anthony worked across our entire roster, handling touring logistics, press, scheduling, and admin. He is an exemplary employee with an enviable understanding of the global music industry.””
Anthony Metcalf is a booking agent, tour manager and director of the 100% GOOD event promotions and marketing group. A former publicist, nightclub booker, DJ and musician, his current clients include Avantdale Bowling Club, Earth Tongue, Homebrew, Mermaidens, and The Beths.
Based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa (Auckland, New Zealand), Anthony draws on fifteen years of hands-on experience within the local and international independent music ecosystems in his day-to-day work. After getting his start as a songwriter and guitarist in the late 2000s indie band Glass Owls, he spent five enlightening years as a booker and DJ for Cassette 9’s MUM club night. Ready for a change, he spent equally informative stints as a publicist for Border Music, an assistant at Lorraine Barry Management, and working in artist management and tour operations for Monster Artist Management (Australia).
In 2015, Anthony established the 100% GOOD event promotions and marketing group. Over the last decade, he’s run debut New Zealand tours for a who’s who of influential American indie-rock and post-punk stars, most notably Parquet Courts (2015), Mac DeMarco (2016), Frankie Cosmos (2017), Protomartyr (2018), and Alex G (2023). Alongside these ventures, Anthony has helped grow Avantdale Bowling Club and The Beths into sustainable touring properties at home in Aotearoa.
Driven by integrity, transparency, adaptability, and a desire to create the changes he wants to see in music, Anthony also provides industry commentary to various media outlets. In recent years, his opinion pieces and commentary have been published and broadcast by The Spinoff, Under The Radar (NZ), Radio New Zealand, 95bFM and the 1 of 200 podcast.
Regardless of his role on any given day, Anthony approaches his work with a curatorial ear and a desire to help his musician clients prepare for and meet the moment.
